A great opportunity has arisen at our Support Centre in Redditch for a Tax & Treasury Analyst, working in an award-winning finance team. The role reports to the Head of Tax & Treasury and works alongside the Group Treasury Analyst.

The role works closely with the wider finance team and is responsible for assisting with the tax accounting and compliance affairs for the group, along with various aspects of treasury.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

TAX

Responsible for providing support in the tax affairs of the entities in UK, Ireland and Hong Kong. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparation of UK corporate tax returns (including all relevant supporting documentation and calculations e.g. UK debt cap/interest restriction)
  • Preparation of corporate and deferred tax calculations for statutory accounts including required note disclosures (IFRS)
  • Preparation of UK tax provisions for UK reporting (bi-annually)
  • Preparation of UK and Ireland VAT returns, including ECSL where required.
  • Support projects to improve the tax reporting and compliance processes and software tools
  • Senior Accounting Officer compliance including auditing financial reporting internal controls to identify weakness and recommend improvements
  • Prepare tax payment calculations
  • Providing tax support to business units on ad-hoc queries
  • Other ad-hoc tax duties

 

TREASURY

 Cover and support for Treasury analyst as required, including

    • Cash flow and net debt forecasting
    • Daily cash and debt position monitoring
    • Secondary administrator for bank account authorisations and processes
    • Maintenance of bank mandates in line with internal authorisation levels

Person Specification

  • Part qualified (AAT, ACCA or working towards CTA/ACA)
  • Relevant tax experience either gained in practice or through experience; solid relevant and current tax experience
  • Experience of Corporation Tax or VAT return/computation preparation
  • Awareness of all taxes (e.g. employment tax, indirect taxes)
  • Self-starter and ability to constructively challenge
  • Experience with corporate tax accounting
  • Willingness to develop treasury skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite
  • A positive, “can do” attitude
  • Have the ability and desire to take ownership of tasks

As the Group uses Onesource software to prepare corporation tax computations, practical experience of Onesource would be beneficial but is not a requirement for the role
