Halfords Autocentres have some exciting opportunities for Autocentre Fitters to join the Autocentres team.  The role will be based at our Charlton Autocentre.

Role Purpose

As an Autocentre Fitter, you will be an important member of the Autocentre team helping deliver excellent levels of service to earn customer’s trust.

What will the role involve?

  • The Autocentre Fitter must have a sound interest in Motor Vehicles and the delivery of exceptional customer service
  • The role will include both being “front of house” and customer facing as well as delivering the “on demand services”

Supported by the Centre Manager, the Autocentre Fitter will be required to confidently deal with all types of customer enquiries. You will be happy to deal with phone, online & face to face contact for both retail & our corporate clients.

You will be the colleague responsible for delivering our on demand services which will include battery, car bulb and wiper blade replacement, window chip repair and fluid top ups. 

You will also be dealing with suppliers, colleagues within your team and you will need to be confident with pricing work so that you are contributing to the centre's profit and sales targets. You will also take responsibility for administration. We will invest in you to be able to complete some workshop tasks such as window chip repair and fluid top ups.

Training will be provided in order to deliver the following repairs:      

  • Minor vehicle checks such as lights and levels (potential to check tyres)
  • On demand service work such as bulb, battery and wiper blade replacement (3 B’s)

What skills are we looking for?

You will ensure Autocentre workshop standards are maintained at all times and work in accordance with workshop health & safety requirements.  You will complete all administration to company requirements and be comfortable working on multiple work streams simultaneously.

You will have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills and be able to build rapport with different people.  Ability to influence and negotiate with strong commercial awareness along with strong sales skills.  You must be confident with systems and IT literate.

Other requirements

Current, valid driving licence

A variety of days from Mon - Sun
