The teams at our Redditch Support Centre work with every other area of our business, putting them at the heart of the action and playing a key role in our success and growth. Everyone brings their individual knowledge and experience to work every day, working as one team to keep things moving smoothly.

If you’re willing to get stuck in, you’ll love it here too. So put yourself at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced working environment where expertise and focus take people far.

The role

As a Finance Analyst within our Garages Finance team, you'll take on a role that sits at the intersection of commercial finance and FP&A, giving you broad exposure across operations, mobile, and property finance. Reporting to the Head of Finance for Garage Operations, you'll own the monthly risks and opportunities process end to end and play a central role in producing the performance management decks that go to senior management and key committees.

Day to day, you'll be coordinating submissions, leading review meetings, supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, and acting as the link between the Group FP&A function and the Garages Finance team. You'll also support Operations, Mobile, and Property finance teams with KPI analysis, trial modelling, and post evaluations, so the variety is genuine and the stakeholder exposure is real.

This is a strong development opportunity for someone studying towards a professional qualification who wants a role where they'll be stretched across multiple areas of finance rather than siloed in one. If you have strong Excel skills, a commercial mindset, and the communication skills to present clearly to senior stakeholders, this is a good environment to grow quickly.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the end to end monthly Garages risks and opportunities process, including coordinating submissions, providing analysis, and leading review meetings
  • Plan, collate, and deliver key performance management decks to senior management, including the Monthly Business Performance Review and Garage Services Transformation submissions
  • Play a key role in budgeting and forecasting across annual and quarterly business cycles, driving continuous improvement in processes, reporting, and collaboration with each cycle
  • Act as the link between the Group FP&A function and Garages Finance teams, ensuring required deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Support Operations, Mobile, and Property finance teams in producing timely and insightful KPI analysis, trial modelling, profitability assessments, and post evaluations
  • Manage the relationship between Group Procurement requirements and Garages Finance
  • Work collaboratively across the wider Commercial Finance team, providing ad hoc support as required to contribute to overall team objectives.

About you

  • Currently studying towards a professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA, with demonstrable commercial acumen and curiosity
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to manipulate large datasets from multiple sources and present findings clearly to senior audiences
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy and relevance across all data presented in key performance review decks
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to pick out the pertinent points from complex data and present them in a way that is useful to senior decision-makers
  • A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with people at all levels of the business and adapting your style to different stakeholders
  • A collaborative team player who is proactive, keen to learn, and motivated by delivering results in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Copilot, or AI tools is advantageous.

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • We offer hybrid working with a blend of working in our Support Centre and from home.
  • You will have access to a wealth of employee discounts across the Halfords suite of products and services.
  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.

Not sure you meet all the criteria? We'd encourage you to take the wheel and apply anyway! At Halfords we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our colleagues. We're an equal opportunities employer and proud to welcome applications from all backgrounds and embrace diversity within our one Halfords Family.

At Halfords, we operate a 3 days per week on-site hybrid working policy at our Support Centre in Redditch Worcestershire.
