We’re looking for a motivated Product Owner to join our Product Management team who are responsible for the development of the Digital proposition here at Halfords, which involved setting the vision at the digital product level and developing the roadmap and prioritised product backlog for achieving it. Defining high level features that are key to the success of Halfords website and supporting applications including digitally supported in-store capability, ensuring that they deliver the expected business value in line with stated priorities and commercial targets. We have moved to an Agile world of development and improvement, the effective Product ownership of our digital proposition and in particular is vital in ensuring the success of our investments. Responsible for the detail of our developments, the Product Owner will be the connection between business, digital & customer and IT.

Key Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain a very good understanding of the product in the market by working closely with business stakeholders and the Digital team (particularly Data Analysis and Conversion Teams evaluating customer feedback/needs, looking at trends, and what competitors are doing)
•Source additional insight and best practise to design, plan and scope optimal product functionality
•Pro-actively maintain knowledge of innovative technology developments both in and outside the market and product sector
•Work closely with relevant business/trading functions to develop/test new ideas and propositions for product development and obtain buy-in
•Develop and maintain product strategy and vision
•Translate product strategy into a product roadmap, identifying and generating new ideas that grow market share, drive commercial and business value and improve customer experience
•Work closely with Architects and Development teams to understand the technology enablers/constraints for new product ideas
•Ensure outward communication around priorities, developments and changes to stakeholders across business functions takes place
•Build funding model/business case for new product development requiring additional funding to be secured
• Act as a subject matter expert for development teams providing additional product insight as needed/requested
•Work collaboratively with other Product Managers across Digital to refine and prioritise the overall product backlog and identify dependencies

Skills Required
•A deep interest in digital and technology innovation
•Demonstrable experience of successful product delivery in an Agile environment
•Demonstrable experience in setting product vision and strategy, alongside the delivery of an ongoing roadmap
•Experience in creating product development strategies and effectively communicating recommendations to management
•Experience of managing all aspects of product development throughout its lifecycle
•Ability to understand and draw out key themes and trends from analysis of customer and market data
•Good knowledge of the technology landscape in eCommerce and payment processing
•Able to work creatively under pressures of time and scope
•Able to make and take ownership for decisions at a fast pace
•Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organisation
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong team working and collaboration skills
