JOB PURPOSE

To support the Profit Protection team with the provision of accurate and timely data to enable the reduction of Company losses and supporting other business needs.

JOB CONTEXT

Profit Protection is an independent, objective function designed to add value and reduce loss. This role requires a high level of analytic skill & will be responsible for creating regular and ad hoc reports via various Halfords systems, and the ability to identify potentially fraudulent transactions.

The role requires a high level of collaboration with all Profit Protection Business Partners and National Fraud Investigators, producing data to give tangible insights and the ability to produce accurate and concise investigation cases.

The role may also require collaboration with the Police on external investigations.

  1. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Use of Halfords data systems and visualisation tools – including but not limited to: SAP BW, SAP finance, Alteryx, Power Bi, IDM Data Mining to analyse information and report on trends of loss or fraud
  • Responsibility for managing Halfords’ annual stocktake programme, including reporting of losses, scheduling of annual stocktakes, liaison with external stocktake providers and Halfords IT department
  • Production & maintenance of monthly & weekly schedule of stockloss reports – e.g. dashboards, regular reports, stockloss reports for other departments & stakeholders e.g. retail & commercial
  • Working with the PP team to support on key projects
  • Working with the PP field team and Fraud Investigators to provide supporting information on store specific losses and fraud cases
  • Key point of contact for any Profit Protection related enquiries in the support centre
  • Recommend, design and implement enhanced reports and system improvements
  • Departmental Super User for Data Mining, BW, Alteryx, Power BI and other systems
  • Attendance of key PP & Finance meetings
  • The role will be based at Redditch Support Centre (with hybrid working), however some field-based working may also be required
  • To undertake any ad hoc project or tasks within the scope of the Profit Protection remit as agreed
  • Maintaining discretion and confidentiality when dealing with cases

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of SAP BW, Excel, MS Office 365, Alteryx, SQL & Power Bi
  • A strong instinct to identify discrepancies in large data samples
  • An understanding of Data Mining technologies
  • Experience of Support Centre and Store environments
  • Strong team working skills
  • High levels of personal integrity
  • Impact and influencing skills
  • Able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Full driving licence and ability to stay away from home if required
