Overview of the role:

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will provide finance support to our Retail B2B Leadership team within Halfords, who are responsible for delivering B2B products such as Cycle2Work, Trade Card and Halfords4Business.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Retail B2B, the role holder will help drive commercial performance improvements through leading commercial reporting and insight into operational costs.

The current role and responsibilities are designed for a Senior Finance Analyst with experience / eagerness to learn in that, along with key reporting responsibilities, the role also provides opportunity for some Business Partnering responsibilities for the Business.

What will the role involve?

  • Provide accurate, timely and insightful information to the Retail B2B Leadership Team including relevant KPI analysis.
  • Support the Retail B2B Leadership Team in understanding and managing costs whilst helping drive operational efficiencies.
  • Support the Business Partner in providing the right balance of challenge and support to the B2B Leadership Team around commercial decision making.
  • Lead on month end for all of retail B2B, providing variance analysis to budget across all B2B revenue streams, business partnering with stakeholders to ensure that cost lines are accurate and complete.
  • Lead on the budgeting and reforecasting processes during the annual business cycle for all retail B2B cost lines across each revenue stream.
  • Track Opex/Capex project spend for cost lines.

What skills and behaviours are we looking for?

  • Experience within Retail or fast paced sector preferred, e.g. FMCG.
  • Part Qualified at Strategic level studying towards either CIMA/ACCA.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel. The ability to use Microsoft Access at a high level is highly desirable but not essential for this position.
  • Experience with using SAP desirable but not essential.
  • Strong Communication & presentation skills.
  • Absolute commitment to quality with a high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable being able to handle large quantities of data and analyse data to inform commercial decision making.
  • Curious attitude and confident self-starter, with desire to continuously develop self and drive business forward.
  • Dynamic and results-driven individual with a high level of energy.
  • The ability to build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to progress and succeed within the business.
  • The role is a hybrid role based at our Support Centre in Redditch 3 days per week.
