About the role

Range Planners are accountable for analysing and delivering a customer centric range whilst optimising space and sales consistent with category strategy.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the category in building the case for undertaking a range review / prioritisation process.
  • Works with the category using robust analysis (via range tool) to advise opportunities for range improvement.
  • Be a category range expert to feed into transformation projects.
  • Provide robust analysis with regards to master assortment to ensure space is optimised using the ranging tool.
  • Works with the trading teams to agree where new products fit into the needs hierarchy and whether they replace existing SKUs or if additional space is required.
  • Ensures key stakeholders adhere to the range review process to ensure range change is delivered on time and in full.
  • Manage a “pool” of assistant range planners to build planograms for new range reviews

 

Key Skills/Experience

  • Experienced at drawing insight from data
  • Experience in stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Good level of commercial awareness
  • Previous experience in Range desirable but not essential
