Job Outline (Key Objectives)

  • To be responsible for the continued monitoring of our body-worn camera footage throughout our Commercial Fleet Services, Halfords Mobile Experts, Consumer Garages, and Retail business units.
  • To ensure the health, safety, wellbeing, and compliance of our colleagues meets the highest standards.
  • To monitor real-time surveillance, review recorded footage, report unsafe behaviour, identify suspicious activity, and coordinate concerns with the wider health & safety team for investigation purposes.
  • To actively manage, deploy, monitor, and maintain our body-worn camera assets and systems to ensure they remain fit for purpose and function correctly.
  • To ensure the overall management and handling of data is in accordance with GDPR.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • To proactively monitor real-time and recorded body-worn camera footage from our colleagues operating within Commercial Fleet Services, Halfords Mobile Experts, Consumer Garages, and Retail business units consistently.
  • To maintain both a high, and constant vigilance throughout all business units, ensuring quick identification of tasks, activities, or behaviours with a potential to cause harm.
  • Track and monitor individual behaviour (colleague, customer & third party) with prompt follow up and responses to both health & safety and operational management for any identified irregularities.
  • To secure clear and detailed evidence (footage) to support with overall investigations.
  • To ensure all systems, devices, and assets are being maintained to a sufficient operational standard and functioning as intended.
  • To follow data protection laws (GDPR) and maintain confidentiality of recorded footage.
  • To keep detailed logs of events, inclusive of accidents, incidents, violence & intimidation, dangerous occurrences, poor behaviour, and safety concerns, along also with any defects and potential misuse of assets.
  • Communicate with on-site operational teams, health & safety business partners, emergency responders, and law enforcement as required.

  • To conduct regular system tests and report any technical issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • To ensure you adhere to company security policies and procedures.
  • To support the wider health & safety department in the undertaking of investigations to identify both root cause, and preventative measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Identify, promote, and raise awareness of ‘Good Practice’ examples (individual & site recognition).
  • Assist the Senior Health & Safety Business Partners and Health & Safety Business Partners in maintaining effective working relationships with Halfords Directors, Managers, Colleagues, Trade Unions, Partners, Contractors, and all other relevant stakeholders.
  • To liaise and support the Halfords Group on any matters concerned or connected with Employee and Public Liability whilst maintaining the strictest confidentiality at all times.
  • Support and participate in department, corporate, individual, and sponsored projects.
  • Represent the Halfords Group in a positive manner.

Key Skills & Experience Requirements

ESSENTIAL

 

  • A minimum of 2 years CCTV and/or control room experience.
  • A good understanding of automotive and commercial processes.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate
  • Experience in both PUWER and LOLER regulations.
  • Proven experience in undertaking site audits, inspections, and spot-checks
  • Ability to both prioritise and mitigate risk.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organisational & planning skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent navigation in the use of Microsoft Office and a quick learner with internal/external software solutions.

DESIRABLE

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • SIA Licence
  • Experience in behavioural based safety.
  • Self-Driven to succeed.
  • First Aid trained.
  • Maintains CPD (Continued Professional Development)
  • IOSH Membership (Associate / Member)
