About the role

Reporting to the Group Head of Procurement, you’ll shape and embed a best-in-class supplier management framework, ensuring that sourcing benefits are sustained, risks are managed, and supplier performance continues to drive value across the business.

We’re seeking a proven strategic supplier leader with experience running a Supplier Management CoE in complex environments. Covering Technology, Property, Logistics, and Digital, you’ll take ownership of supplier risk assessment, savings identification, and Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) simplification, while enabling data-driven decision making that supports renewals, negotiations, and long-term supplier development. This is a high-impact role at the heart of Halfords’ Procurement transformation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and rollout of a consistent Supplier Management Framework, embedding; segmentation, risk management, due diligence, performance tracking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) visibility across all brands and functions.
  • Manage and inspire a team and cross-functional contract leads, improving commercial and contract management capability across the Group.
  • Drive measurable improvements in KPIs, including on-time/on-budget project delivery, TCO transparency, spend under contract, supplier compliance (including ESG), and supplier performance management.
  • Oversee strategic supplier relationships, using data and performance insights to maximise value, strengthen compliance, and leverage Halfords’ scale.
  • Act as the Group’s subject matter expert in Supplier Management, guiding decentralised teams to align processes and controls with the CoE methodology.
  • Simplify complex commercial and operational issues, providing clear direction that mitigates risks and delivers practical, measurable outcomes.
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders with credibility, balancing agility in shifting priorities with a clear long-term strategic focus.
  • Harness supplier data to generate actionable insights that inform contract renewals, supplier development, and benefit realisation, while proactively identifying opportunities to consolidate and simplify the supplier base.

About you

  • A proven track record in strategic Supplier Management, particularly across Technology, Digital, and Data categories, delivering measurable results.
  • Experienced leader with the ability to coach and inspire cross-functional teams, from product owners to finance and project managers.
  • Adept at engaging at all levels and across Halfords Group companies, with a genuine focus on improving Supplier outcomes to benefit our Customers and Employees across Retail, Garages and Business to Business services.
  • Skilled relationship builder, elevating supplier engagement from transactional to strategic partnerships that unlock long-term value.
  • Confident influencer and negotiator, able to collaborate across technical, commercial, and operational functions while driving robust business cases.
  • Commercially astute, with strong analytical skills to interpret supplier data, track performance, and support informed decision-making.
  • Highly organised and execution-focused, with a history of delivering outcomes, managing risk, and optimising total cost of ownership.

Reward & benefits

  • A fair and competitive salary evaluated against market data, car allowance, annual discretionary bonus scheme, pension, life assurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (plus holiday buy & sell, up to 5 days per year) and enhanced family leave.
  • Commitment and dedication to your ongoing personal and professional development. We help you to own and grow your potential so you can be at your best in your current role and to support your future career aspirations.
  • We offer hybrid working in our Support Centre, you will be based at our Support Centre 3 days a week with an optional 2 days working from home.

  • Wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our colleague experience. We offer resources and ongoing support to enhance your wellbeing at work and active Colleague Networks supporting inclusion initiatives across Halfords.
