The Warehouse Team Leader will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day duties of the Warehouse including organising colleagues, customers and stock.
They can cover responsibility when management are off site, supporting customers, or on annual leave.
They will be a point of escalation for the Team and liaise directly with the Manager. They will promote the Company values and working ethos to colleagues by example. They will ensure colleagues are working safely and adherent to H&S policies. They will aid in creation and maintenance of a positive working environment and support monthly meetings to ensure effective communication throughout the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee safe and consistent running of site when Manager is not present.
- Organise and delegate jobs to colleagues.
- Order consumables for site in line with policy and H&S requirements.
- Answer telephone calls and enquiries in a professional and courteous manner, demonstrating a high level of customer service.
- Assist Management with ensuring key KPI targets are met, and help drive sales, margin and profit by ensuring depots have the correct stock at the correct time.
- Assist in the supply and distribution of stock to depots.
- Assist with placing manufacturer orders as necessary.
- Liaise with depots and manufactures for casing collection and ensure that stock returns are made for obsolete stock
- Complete relevant paperwork and maintain electronic databases/systems accurately and to the required standard.
- Ensure all colleagues are aware and accountable of their roles and responsibilities.
- Assist with Monthly stock check; ensure correct monthly stock procedure is followed, reporting any discrepancies to their Manager /Regional General Manager as necessary.
- Ensure depot is Health & Safety and Company policy compliant, with all colleagues aware of policies, procedures and completing required tasks on Company compliance portal. Ensuring the HGV & Asset Compliance is adhered to.
- Escalate any serious internal/external issues to Manager / Regional General Manager.
- Assist with training and development of trainees.
- Ensure that vehicles are kept to company standard, oversee fuel expenses and driving hours are adhered to.
- Be an Ambassador for the Halfords CFS Values and support stakeholders to achieve one united business across all entities within Commercial Fleet Services.
