About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager with strong knowledge of the fleet and automotive sectors to oversee a portfolio of fleet accounts. You’ll build and maintain excellent relationships with both external clients and internal operational teams, ensuring seamless service delivery. As we continue to enter an exciting phase of growth at Halfords as a market leader in SMR as well as one of the market leaders with tyres. It’s a fantastic time to join us!
You’ll be responsible for driving revenue and margin growth across your portfolio maximising opportunities within existing accounts while proactively identifying growth opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively visit, maintain and strengthen relationships with key contacts across your portfolio of Halfords Auto Centre (HAC) fleet accounts
- Deliver revenue and margin growth in line with annual financial targets
- Act as a subject matter expert on all fleet‑related matters, supporting operational colleagues as needed
- Regularly visit HAC operational sites to understand challenges and identify opportunities to drive additional revenue
- Create and maintain strategic account development plans outlining key activities for year, focused on meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Oversee credit and debtor management within your account portfolio
- Working with & supporting internal Fleet Support team to ensure customer service issues are resolved within agreed timeframes
- Share best practice and collaborate actively with colleagues across the business
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and ethical standards
- Work in alignment with Halfords values in everything you do
About you
- Experience in national account or relationship management, ideally within the automotive sector
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders while demonstrating Halfords values
- Solid understanding of the fleet sector and its operational requirements
- Extensive experience in Customer Relationship Management, with a track record of delivering excellent service
- Confident in analysing data and using insights to support commercial decision making
- Strong awareness of customer and market dynamics with the ability to adapt to changing needs
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
- Demonstrated ability to exceed sales and margin KPIs
